Day to Day timings

The School Day

The government’s new white paper “Opportunity for all: strong schools with great teachers for your child” sets out the clear expectation that all state-funded mainstream schools should deliver a school week of at least 32.5 hours.

This 32.5 hour minimum expectation includes the time in each day from the official start of school (i.e. morning registration) to the official end of the compulsory school day (i.e. home time). The 32.5 hour minimum includes breaks, lunchtimes and any extra-curricular activities that all pupils are expected to attend. However, it does not include optional wraparound care provision.

School gates will be opened at 8:35am to allow children to arrive in time for the school day which will start promptly at 8:45am with registration in class.

Children who stay in school for either school dinner or packed lunch are not allowed to leave the school premises during the lunch break.
